What happened?
The client asked us to engage with
all the internalstakeholder and
propose design solution for the highest embankment in the network with
lowest condition rating.
The design of this embankment has
been postponed by the client f
or several years due to many constraints.
Support the client
Macfema Ltd designed a single solution for the whole
embankment taking in consideration allthe possible constraints about access,
constructability and any disturbance to the local residents.
Achievement
The solution proposed by Macfema Ltd was accepted by TfL.
This resolved a very long‑standing issue with local traffic restrictions
not needed anymore.The design also included a low carbon footprint
solution.
